I'd like to ask if someone knows what effects I need to use in PS for a picture to look like this:



I have an offer to do a promotion pictures,logo etc. for a rap album,and I want the rappers pic to look like that,actually he wants...so help would really mean much to me...thanks...

Hopefully this will help you out, though. I even got an example
I did with the given effects. Since you're helpin' out a rapper,
I figured I would bust out an example of the king

Here's what I did:

Take the whole image, used SMART BLUR. (Filters>Blur>Smart Blur)
Here's the values I used: Radius: 100 | Threshold: 70 | Quality: High | Mode: Normal
You may need to adjust them based on the image you're using.

Next, to the whole image, apply UNSHARP MASK. (Filters>Sharpen>Unsharp Mask)
Values: Amount: 60 | Radius: 80 | Threshold: 0
Same as above, you will probably need to tweak these for your image.

Adding a little bit of contrast and saturation might make the colors pop out as well, depending on the photo. I added about +7 contrast/saturation to V-Ice here.





The image I used was of apparent poor quality. I'd recommend taking a high resolution one your rapper buddy and scaling it down and cropping it.

another reason it looks like that is because it's all composited... the hummer, the rapper, they don't actually belong to the background

EDIT: what i mean by that is, they needed to colour correct them to make it seem more like they were already a part of the scene

Yeah. If you look around the outside of the rapper, there's a glow effect. Look at the sky, look at the legs. Makes 'em pop out.

Composited, fndy? I believe the term is "super-imposed"
