About Tag You're It! PDF Print E-mail

panda_holdingThe idea for Tag You're It! came around when Budd was studying for an Information Systems class sometime in February of 2009. Budd, always having a love for writing, read in his college book about the website named www.tagyoureit.org, which was supposedly a collaborative creative writing website. Fascinated with the idea of working with others to produce stories, Budd placed his pencil in his book, turned to his laptop and quickly typed in the address bar: "www.tagyoureit.org". To his disappointment, the website had been taken down and quite recently. He placed his head down, looked at the floor, and wondered, "Why would anyone want to stop something so good?" He looked back up and searched who currently owned the former website to see that it had been purchased by an e-shark around two weeks before.

A couple days later Budd still had the website on his mind. Considering himself a victim of a heavy schedule and ADD, collaborative writing was perfect for his situation. He didn't have to write an ENTIRE story and could participate in writing when he pleased which would satisfy his hunger for literacy art. He pulled up his laptop again and decided to look for another website that produced collaborative writing but failed to find anything. Then it came to him... "Why not start it over again? Can't be THAT hard right?" With his new innovation, he searched up www.tagyoureit.net and found that it was available! With the following purchase and founding of a server, TYI! had been born.

The next entire month consisted of heavy 6-8 hour days working on the website to get it running to its full potential. Being a first time website owner, Budd had a lot to learn in a little amount of time to have the TYI! running at 100% proficiency. When the website was close to halfway finished, he then went to his longtime e-friends and asked them to help him staff on his newfound greatness. Not one person declined and all were anticipating the opening for weeks to come while Budd built the website, Fabz worked on all the art, and the others produced content and tutorials for collaborations in the future. The group effort has helped make TYI! a reality and is home for many people to enjoy their hobbies as they please.

Our thanks <3
